Google Business Profile Adds “Confirmed by Percentage” Feature

Google Business Profile Adds “Confirmed by Percentage” Feature

Google is rolling out a new feature for Google Business Profiles that could transform local SEO and how businesses build customer trust. The update, called “Confirmed by Percentage”, shows how many users have verified the accuracy of a business’s listed attributes.

How the New “Confirmed by Percentage” Works

When users tap on the “About” tab of a Google Business Profile (especially on mobile), they may now see a message like:

“Confirmed by 85% of 200 visitors.”

This appears next to attributes such as “Wheelchair Accessible”, “Outdoor Seating”, or “Free Wi-Fi.”

I first spotted this new update and shared screenshots on LinkedIn. In my post, I noted:

“The ‘About’ section on mobile now highlights visitor-confirmed attributes — with public-facing percentages. Google is layering user feedback into profiles. Branded searches have tons of new updates! Keep your eyes on your profile.”

Why This Matters for Local SEO

This feature is more than just a design tweak — it has direct implications for local search rankings and customer engagement:

  • Builds Customer Trust: Visitor-confirmed attributes validate that your business information is accurate.
  • Boosts Engagement: Transparency encourages more profile interactions and click-throughs.
  • Influences Rankings: Confirmed attributes may strengthen local SEO signals in Google’s algorithm.
  • Reduces False Claims: Misrepresenting features is riskier now that user-verified data is publicly visible.

What Business Owners Should Do

✔️ Audit Your Attributes: Ensure all listed features are accurate and relevant.
✔️ Encourage Customer Confirmations: Ask happy clients to verify attributes when leaving reviews.
✔️ Monitor the “About” Tab: Check which attributes are being confirmed (or challenged).
✔️ Be Transparent: Don’t exaggerate — Google now relies on real user input.

🗣️ Community Discussion on LinkedIn

This update has already sparked conversation among SEO professionals and business owners on LinkedIn. Many agree that crowd-sourced confirmations could become a major trust signal in local SEO.
