Google Search Tests Rainbow Effect To AI Mode & Web Tabs

Google is testing a rainbow effect on the AI Mode and Web tabs within the search bar. This effect has been spotted on the AI Mode button in the search box, and it seems Google is experimenting with using it to draw attention to certain tabs.

I was able to replicate this for the AI Mode tab — here’s my video:

Brodie noted:

“As part of the new Web Guide experience in labs that you can opt in to, Google is now bringing attention to the ‘Web’ tab with the rainbow effect. This effect would previously only show for the AI Mode tab.”

It does raise the question: should this effect have been exclusive to the AI Mode tab? Its appearance on the Web tab makes me wonder if this is intentional — or perhaps a bug.
